Zakopane's ski areas include Kasprowy Wierch for high-altitude, longer-season skiing, plus Harenda, Szymoszkowa and Nosal closer to town, and Kotelnica at Białka Tatrzańska and the slopes at Bukowina Tatrzańska nearby; the Wielka Krokiew ski jump hosts an FIS World Cup event each January.
