Things to do in Chochołów
Chochołów is the best-preserved wooden village of the Podhale, about 50 log houses listed as a heritage site in 1970 and scrubbed with soap every spring so the timber stays pale. It is not the Chochołowska valley: that entrance is at Siwa Polana, roughly 10 km away on a different road, and the two are easy to mix up when booking a day.
The village's other draw is Termy Chochołowskie, the largest thermal baths in Poland, around 30 indoor and outdoor pools at 32-38°C; evening sessions cost less and pull fewer crowds than midday. Coming from Zakopane, allow about 20-25 minutes by car or minibus.
Walking the lanes between the log houses takes under an hour, so most visitors pair it with the baths or a separate trip to the valley, not both on the same short stop.
